Overplaying your Mitt-en

Mitt Romney seems beside himself with all the polling going
into today’s Florida contest. Listening
to him on the stump you would think he has this all wrapped up based on money
and two debate performances.

Newt Gingrich was right in responding the way he did; the
sting in any rebuke is the truth I thinks that’s a Ben Franklin quote but it’s
will ring true today. Even if Mitt
Romney pulls off a win in Florida he has fired his biggest salvos at Newt to do
it and left himself defenseless in the process.
If however he loses even if it is just by 12 votes it will mark the end
of his campaign for president although he may be the last to know it.

What Mitt does not appear to understand is the ‘swift boat
truth’ of the instant media age we now live in.   If the race were over and Gingrich was at
his last stand with a Florida defeat it would be a good bet; but it’s just that
a bet; not a lousy little old $10k one but a great BIG $10MILLION one.

His attempt to rewrite years of historical fact into this
fantasy that Newt Gingrich is somehow the quintessential threat to Conservatism
in our time as even a passing thought are outrageous. Newt Gingrich started this campaign by acknowledging
the positive change ANY of his fellow debaters would bring to the
Whitehouse. He and he alone called for a
positive campaign and a focus strictly on the facts.

Mitt is reviving every double standard fantasies of the Left
to attack Newt in such a biased fashion it would make the likes of Letterman
blush; and I didn’t think they made colored collagen. His biggest problem is and has always been an
inability to connect to the average voter.
Likeability is perhaps the single most important attribute for a
candidate in any campaign.

For most Republican voters truth is the root to trust in a
public official what Mitt Romney is doing is betting he won’t have to defend
himself from the Right after Florida.
Either that or he is hoping and praying everyone forgets by the time we
get past Nevada and Michigan.

With the fresh endorsement of Herman Cain the official Tea
Party candidate don’t count Newt out just yet.
Media cheerleaders called McCain, Dole, and Christie an A-list
endorsement of Romney. While at the same
time calling Cain, Michael Reagan, and Todd Palin Newt’s B-list; totally side
stepping Fred Thompson’s Newt endorsement the establishment is delusional as to
the power of the Tea Party Conservatives.

You’ve overplayed you mittens and Newt Gingrich ain’t no
sick kitten.
